Joni Mitchell
First of all, I did NOT know Joni Mitchell wrote Big Yellow Taxi, the Counting Crows cover of that song is in my top 50 favorite songs of all time. This is AWESOME go Joni!
Anyways, I really like Joni Mitchell, but I get a little tired of listening to her after about 6 songs. I think he has an incredibly unique an all-her-own voice which has such an impressive range, but I often find myself growing weary of her sticking mainly to such a high octave and it unsettles me a lil bit. It also makes my throat hurt just thinking about singing that high.
Here is my favorite song of hers:
I think Joni Mitchell had a big influence on Sarah Barielles, because her music is so reflective of Joni's works.
However, while researching her I found a HELLA lot of tight mixes she has been featured in and other cool works she's done. She has been sampled in a ton of hiphop works, and has had countless covers done of her work.
Like here is a mix with her and Janet Jackson..is this real life?
How awesomely old school was that? Absolutely perfect.
Here, Kanye West sampled Joni's Song "River"
Crazy, right? Joni is e'rywhere. Anyways, love Joni, but I struggle to listen to a whole album of hers at a time.
